Fall Equinox Poem

A time of balance

But balance isn’t a fixed state.

This moment

Equal light

and dark

And the moment shifts again

And again

Balance remains mutable

A continual return to the now

Of what feels good now

What serves

What’s needed

I seek balance

in flow and containment

In freedom and structure

In my yes’s

And no’s

In my wants and desires

I watch this with my daughter

Offering her containment

While also offering her the freedom

To explore

And discover herself

Right now I’m re-finding

The balance between

time together

and time apart

Time for me

Just the right amount

So that I’m fully with her when we’re together

Time for my own creative streams

Beyond my stream with her

Inclusive of our stream

Returning to self

As I model to her

What that feels like

From an embodied place

Not just a concept

But a true devotion

To riding the flows

that enliven me

As I do this

I bring more play

Creative response

Presence

Resource

Intuition

Ingenuity

To our connection

As the green Aspens 🍃

Ripen into golden hues

And a turn toward a new season begins

I listen to what rhythms

Will guide my relationship with my daughter now

From the expanse of heat

In the summer

Full of river and pool play

And wearing nearly nothing

I notice both my resistance and welcoming of more layers on my body

Meeting the here now

Giving my body what it needs now

Movement

Meditation

Devotional practices

Warm tea

Bone broth

And Nourishment

Days start out cold

And still the sun shines warmth

By the afternoon ☀️

Cold

Warm

Light

Dark

Naked

Clothed

Movement

Stillness

Polarities of wholeness

Tension points of balance

Continually recalibrating

This turn to autumn offers me moments throughout my day to listen to what’s needed now

What’s here now

What’s emerging

and what’s releasing

Like a snake shedding her outgrown skins 🐍

Fresh new layers reveal themselves

To

See

Hear

Sense

Smell

And meet

In

The

Ever unfolding

Here

And now
